Tierra Group empezó trabajando en la mina Eagle Gypsum de American Gypsum situada en Gypsum, Colorado en el 2014 evaluando de mejoramientos de camino recorrido. Un estudio de compensación se finalizó brindando una herramienta que American Gypsum utilizó para evaluar mejoramientos de seguridad como alineaciones de camino recorrido alternativo y grados, rampas de camión fuera de control y medios similares para reducir el riesgo para operadores de camiones de transporte. Tierra Group finalizó recientemente la planificación del tajo para evaluar las reservas restantes actuales y expansión futura potencial. Esto incluye diseños de tajo y optimización, planificación de botaderos, diseños de ruta de acceso/arrastre, controles de sedimento y alternativas de gestión de agua superficial. Tierra Group ha desarrollado el análisis de alternativas preliminares a través de diseños de nivel de alcance.

Además, Tierra Group, junto con SWCA, realizó el diseño de ingeniería y preparó una Modificación del Plan de Operaciones de Minas (MPO). La modificación de MPO se preparó para proporcionar más de 30 años de vida útil de la mina. El diseño de ingeniería incluyó trazado de caminos, planificación de un nuevo tajo a cielo abierto, modelado hidrológico y diseño hidráulico, evaluaciones de control de erosión y sedimentos, y diseño de pozas de aguas pluviales. SWCA llevó a cabo relevamientos adicionales para el desarrollo del Plan de Operaciones de la Mina y se desempeñó como líder para consultas con la Oficina de Gestión Territorial.

Reevaluación de estanques de sedimentos

Tierra Group actualizó los modelos HEC-HMS existentes para confirmar que los aliviaderos pueden pasar adecuadamente el flujo del evento de tormenta de 100 años y 24 horas y para verificar que la superficie máxima del agua estará contenida dentro de los pozos este y superior.
