Mina del Oro Don Mario

Don Mario es una mina de oro y cobre de tajo abierto localizada en la provincia Chiquitos en Santa Cruz, Bolivia. La mina Don Mario ejerce su actividad desde el 2002 y actualmente el rendimiento de planta produce 2700 tpd. Los relaves convencionales son transportados y depositados sobre un revestimiento de geomembrana (HDPE), el llenado del vaso de las instalaciones de almacenamiento de relaves TSF creado por la construcción convencional aguas abajo de un Dique de Tierra por Etapas.  Desde el 2002, Don Mario ha construido 7 etapas de diseño de la Presa de relaves convencional aguas abajo.

Debido al incremento de los costos de construcción de presas, Don Mario convocó a Tierra Group para desarrollar un método innovador para reducir los costos de construcción de los diseños de presa de relaves, sin comprometer la integridad de la presa. Tierra Group desarrolló un único e innovador diseño de recrecimiento de la presa que incorporó una mecánica de recrecimiento de la cresta del dique con suelo reforzado (MSE) combinado con el uso desmonte de roca estéril para aumentar la capacidad de depósito de relaves mientras se reduce el volumen de construcción, tiempo y costos de construcción. Después de desarrollar el diseño, Tierra Group ofreció el aseguramiento de la calidad de la construcción (CQA) y dio soporte a la gestión de la construcción del proyecto, el cual fue concluido en abril del 2016.  Tierra Group diseñó los recrecimientos futuros de la presa, la construcción de la cual comenzó a mediados de Julio del 2016.
